The Old Religion today

The beginning of a slowly and graduated awakening of European Old Religion started to manifests at the end of 1.800's, thanks to the works of C. G. Leland.

The second decisive step, succeeded in the first decade of 1.900's, thanks to the research developed by the anthropologist Margaret A. Murray, that, with her work, tried to partially rebuild the Old Religion in Europe.

From the Old Religion to Wicca

In 1939 Gerald B. Gardner was initiated to Anglo-Saxon Old Religion.

In the middle of the 50’s, Gardner started the Wicca, restoring the Anglo-Saxon Old Religion, and incorporating in it some elements of the Italian Old Religion, taken from the work of C. G. Leland.

So, the Old Religion did not came from Wicca, but on the contrary, Wicca came from the Old Religion .

The Italian Old Religion today

The Italian Old Religion nowadays, it is not the same as it was when it originated, but a natural evolution, updated to reflect the demands of our times.

Perfectly adapted to our time inclusive correctly placed within today’s time-space frame .

In order to bring the Old Religion back to life, I based my work on information from the past between the early Middle age and the Renascence.

According to what I could gather from above, I tried to re-establish all that was possible.

It was a long and complicated task, but it was absolutely necessary, as only the Gods remained unchanged through time.

The rest continued evolving towards the light of a greater knowledge.

The knowledge of today, gives us a greater advantage in comparison to our ancestors, because it allows us to distinguish between myth and reality, between superstition and truth.

Today's followers demands are different from those of our ancestors. Our techniques have been developed, our ways to honour the Deities have changed, our Theology and our Philosophy have also changed, just like the subjects that we study and the way we experiment with things in a practical level has changed too.
